ABSTRACT

Visual literacy – the skill of the 21st century

What is visual literacy? Why is it so important nowadays? How can we implement it in the class? Our students are the most visually oriented generation ever and we, as teachers, cannot ignore that fact. Instead, we should teach the way they learn best – with visual stimulation accompanied by active learning strategies. It seems that printed text is not enough to meet the demands of young people. There are a number of ways we can help our students analyze and interpret the images that
surround them. Come and learn how to become a visual teacher, a teacher with a vision!
